Bletchley Park & Oxford Walk

Good evening JOYSTICKERS,

A great day in the tranquil area of Bletchley Park today.

Beautiful spring trees around the lake and the marvellous house masked the code breakers HQ. We had a guided tour after lunch and gathered around the Polish code breakers memorial, they were the first to crack the enigma code.

21 of us made the trip and we all enjoyed what we saw, including the only aviatior, a carrier pigeon being parachuted behind the lines!

Next Friday is Alan Hoskin's guided walk around his Oxford on Friday 13th......

Meet at Redbridge Park and Ride (post code OX1 4XG) and we will leave on the first bus after 10am. Parking is £2 all day, bus is free if you have a bus pass.We stop for lunch around 12 and the walk will finish around 2. The walk will still take place what ever the weather ! Cheers Alan.

Afterwards if there's energy left, we'll be showing some Girl Guides around the airfield and our simulator.

McAlpines Steam Weekend 20-22nd and then the Scouts are camping with flying taking place on the 27th (Sunday 28th as alternate day) ....pilots and aeroplanes ??

Enjoy the sun
